READ: Hebrews 8:1-13. Invite different group members to read the passage out loud, two or three times. Each time, use a different Bible translation.
DISCUSS – “Christ went more willingly to the cross than we do to the throne of grace.” – Thomas Watson
Q1 – Why do you think we hesitate to run to God after we sin? What thought patterns do you fall into, and how does grace interrupt them?
Q2 – God has promised to dwell in us. What distractions, burdens, or internal noise keep you from recognizing and experiencing His nearness throughout your week?
Q3 – We often act as if God’s approval must still be earned. In what areas of life do you find yourself performing for God?
Q4 – Where have you seen the Spirit of God working through your life into the lives of others recently? What does that say about how God is making Himself known through you?
Q5 – God has willfully chosen to not remember our sins. Is there a past sin you still carry shame or weight from—one you struggle to believe is truly forgiven? What makes it hard to let go?
CHALLENGE:
Memorize Jeremiah 31:33-34 (NIV) this week. Let these words move from your head to your heart. Write them down. Speak them aloud.
Reflect on them in the morning, and return to them at night.
Let them become the rhythm of your week.
