Begin group time with 2 minutes of silent prayer. Assume a comfortable position and repeat the phrase “Come Holy Spirit” to yourself as you breathe. If your mind wanders, that's okay—simply notice it, repeat the phrase, and return your focus. After the silence, invite someone from the group to close in prayer.
READ OUT LOUD AS A GROUP: Matthew 2:1-23; Daniel 2:12-13, 24 Q1 – Where have you encountered God in unexpected ways this year? Q2 – How has the Christmas season changed for you since childhood?
Q3 – Like the wise men, have you ever found Jesus in a way you didn’t expect? How do you typically respond when God answers your prayers in ways you don’t anticipate? Share examples of how His unexpected plans have proven faithful in your life.
Q4 – Have you ever experienced disillusionment, thinking, “This is it?” How has God met you in those moments, or how might He be inviting you to trust Him now?
DISCUSS – “Incarnation allows for a joyful faith.”

As you gather with family and friends this week, look for opportunities to embody joy. Whether it’s offering encouragement, practicing gratitude, or extending grace, be intentional about bringing joy to the spaces you enter.
Consider: Where might God be inviting you to act as a reflection of His presence this week? What simple practices can you commit to that invite joy into your interactions?
